Apologetics Truth in Love Foundation 2026 04 15

This teaching takes us on a transformative journey into apologetics—not as a weapon to win arguments, but as a gentle tool to share truth with love. We discover that defending our faith begins with 1 Peter 3:15, which calls us to give answers for our hope with meekness and respect, not arrogance or condescension. The heart of apologetics isn't about dunking on people or proving ourselves intellectually superior; it's about removing obstacles that keep people from encountering God's love. We learn that truth without love becomes a hammer that pushes people away, while love without truth becomes empty platitudes that fail to address real questions. The teaching powerfully illustrates this through a story of a young woman who suffered abuse at the hands of a Christian Scientist father—her real question wasn't theological but deeply personal: Does God really love me? By listening to the Holy Spirit and addressing the heart issue rather than just the intellectual argument, we can guide people to genuine encounters with Christ. This reminds us that we're not replacing the Holy Spirit; we're simply being prepared vessels who can answer questions with both accuracy and compassion, always pointing people toward the One who truly transforms.

1 Peter 3:15 - "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts and be ready always to give an answer to our faith, and to act with you, a reason of the hope that is in you, with weakness and fear" (meekness and fear/gentleness and respect)

2 Timothy 2:24-25 - "And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome, but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed in the hope that God will grant them repentance, leading them to a knowledge of the truth."

Isaiah 53 - Referenced multiple times as a passage that clearly points to Jesus as the Messiah, particularly in discussion about Jewish apologetics
