The Enemy Within Apostle Emelio Sebastian 2025 12 28
This powerful message confronts us with a truth we often avoid: we cannot enter our promised future while carrying the baggage of our past. Drawing from Exodus 14, we're reminded of Israel standing at the Red Sea, complaining about leaving Egypt's slavery behind. Like them, we've become comfortable in our captivity—comfortable with destructive habits, toxic thought patterns, and spiritual strongholds that have held us back for years. The message challenges us to ask not just 'How do I get out of this place?' but the more important question: 'How did I get here?' We arrive at our breaking points not suddenly, but through years of wrong thinking, wrong speaking, and wrong choices that create life cycles we can't seem to escape. The answer isn't behavior modification—temporarily stopping bad habits only to return to them later. The answer is spiritual transformation through the Word of God, which is sharp enough to divide soul from spirit and show us what needs to be crucified in our lives. We're called to 'possess the land' God has given us, but first we must dispossess the current inhabitants—the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that occupy the territory of our souls. This requires us to identify our triggers, recognize our vulnerabilities, and replace what we remove with God's truth. The journey forward demands that we ask ourselves: Who do I want to become? Why do I want to become that person? And what am I willing to do—or stop doing—to get there?
