Because He Lives Apostle Emelio 2026 04 05

Apr 5, 2026    Emelio Sebastian, Pastor Emelio Sebastian

This powerful message centers on the transformative reality that Jesus Christ is not dead but alive, and His resurrection changes everything about our lives. Drawing from Luke 24:1-5, we encounter the women at the empty tomb and hear the profound question: Why would you look for the living one in a tomb? This isn't just ancient history; it's the foundation of our faith and the source of our hope today. The resurrection means Christ's life continues through us in this present world. We are the continuation of His ministry, called to demonstrate that He lives by how we love, serve, and share hope with others. The message challenges us with a crucial question: Do people around us know that Jesus is alive in us? In a world where approximately 50,000 people annually take their own lives due to hopelessness, we possess the answer they desperately need. Because He lives, we can face tomorrow without fear, knowing that God holds our future. The classic hymn 'Because He Lives,' written during tumultuous times in 1971, remains just as relevant today amid our own chaos, wars, and uncertainty. We are reminded that being a Christian doesn't mean we'll never face problems, but Jesus promised that though we'll have tribulation in this world, we can be of good cheer because He has overcome the world for us. That word 'overcome' is the Greek word 'Nike,' meaning He has subdued and conquered everything under His feet. We don't battle to gain victory; we battle from a place of victory already won. This shifts everything about how we approach life's challenges.
