LATEST MESSAGE

We are creatures of habit, often uncomfortable when our routines are disrupted. Yet this message challenges us to recognize that growth requires change, and inflexibility will stunt our spiritual development. Drawing from Luke 5, we explore Jesus' parable of new wine and new wineskins—a powerful metaphor for spiritual receptivity. When Jesus called Matthew the tax collector, he immediately left everything to follow, demonstrating the kind of flexibility God desires from us. The religious leaders of Jesus' day were so bound by tradition and extra-biblical rules that they couldn't recognize the fresh revelation standing before them. They criticized Jesus for dining with sinners, missing entirely that He came for those who knew they needed Him. The wineskin illustration reveals a profound truth: old wineskins become brittle and inflexible after use, unable to expand when new wine ferments within them. If we cling too tightly to 'the way we've always done things,' we become like those old wineskins—unable to contain the new things God wants to pour into our lives. This isn't about abandoning all structure or tradition, but about maintaining the spiritual flexibility to receive fresh revelation, new assignments, and divine stretching. The question we must answer is deeply personal: What are we willing to leave behind? What comfortable patterns must we release to make room for what God has next? Our unwillingness to change actually grieves the Holy Spirit, who has plans and purposes for us that we cannot yet imagine. God is doing a new thing—are we flexible enough to receive it?
