Day 2: Tearing Down Household Idols
Reading: Judges 6:25-32
Devotional: Deliverance begins in your own house. Before Gideon could defeat Israel's enemies, he had to confront the idolatry in his father's household. God asked him to demolish the altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole—to destroy the very things his family had been worshiping. What idols occupy space in your life? Perhaps it's the pursuit of comfort, approval, success, or control. God is calling you to identify these strongholds and tear them down. Then, on that very ground where the enemy once had influence, build an altar to the Lord. Take what the enemy meant for evil and consecrate it for God's purposes. Victory over external battles requires first winning the internal ones.
Reflection Question: What needs to be demolished in your household—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—to make room for God's altar?
